You probably heard Crystal Murray’s music on the new ESPN/National Women’s Soccer League campaign, or saw her Deezer Sessions, SXSW, Colors, or French We Love Green. Previously known for her Neo Soul vibes with singles like “Princess“, 22 years old Crystal is on her way to impress the masses with her debut opus named “Sad Lovers And Giants”. She took a radical turn and we think it’s an incredibly right move from what we can hear on “Payback” or “Starmaniak” (directed by the incredible Charlotte Wales) which both are extracted from Crystal’s long awaited debut album. We were lucky enough to have had a listen to the whole of it. It’s just mind blowing to us. Grammy nominated Kyu Steed‘s touch gives the tracks maturity and freshness at the same time. This music is just addictive while avoiding the trap of being too mainstream, too sugary. It’s certification and alternative charts material. Be ready. It’s out on may 31st, 2024.
